A man of combined wisdom, dignity, courage and patriotism once said… “The youth is the hope of the fatherland.”

Been thinking of this famous quote of his this moment in time and convincing myself… there is still chance for Pilipinas Kong Mahal (My Dear Philippines) to have its own glory. I still hold on the thought he said about HOPE despite the generation gap differences snapping inside my head, then I end up in a deep sigh of faith. 😀

Anyways, Happy Birthday Dr. Jose P. Rizal, you’re greatness and legacy is truly remembered, not to mention the Rizal subject back in college. Indeed a good example for the youngsters out there. 😀

P.S. This photo was taken back in 2012. Jan 6 of that year at 11:35am using my Nokia C3 to be exact.

Peace be with you and also with me in this Philippine Freedom Month… a post Independence Day tribute coming from a citizen of a free nation tag as the Pearl of the Orient seas who’s pretending to be an ambassador of Goodwill to a certain place where the liberty is in the hands of its people, I supposed? 😀

Maligayang Araw ng Kasarinlan, Pilipinas Kong Mahal. 😀 (Happy Independence Day, My Dear Philippines. :D)

My First Christmas in my Temporary Home

Several days past since I left #PilipinasKongMahal. That moment of November 10, 2012 as the Boeing 777-300ER aircraft of Qatar Airways take off the runway of NAIA Terminal 1, I’ve seen the beauty of the Metro kilometers high from the plane. I’m was awed by the picturesque despite the ear pain felt, as we went up, up and away from our beloved home, our country, the Pearl of the Orient Seas, the Philippines.

Weird it may sound but I haven’t felt the homesickness, thanks to that ‘last minute packing’ rushing into my system. Marked the day November 4 of 2012 when I got the confirmation of my ‘this is is moment’, it was a SHOCK SURPRISE?! Good thing I packed some of my stuffs the day before the most awaited text message was received. So the whole week was an adrenalin cram of the things to be done, mostly putting in and putting out pieces to bring in my 22 kilogram luggage limit… a diversion from the loneliness of leaving.

Inside the giant Boeing of Qatar Airways, the experience was define as wonderful. Well for the record, it was my first time to ride in an airplane so you may free to judge me ignorant or anything, I supposed? Haha. 😀 So going back to the experience like no other, I must say that Qatar Airways is indeed a five star air service. Starting from the latest to the not so recent movies available on the mini screen at the back of the chair in front of us, blockbusters like the recent release Amazing Spiderman and the Dark Knight Rises were available by then. Would you believe that The Devil Wears Prada (my favorite flick of all time) was on their list. 😀 Talking about the food, I ate every single one of it in my plate, only in the international flight from Manila to Qatar, but the connecting flight (Qatar-Eygpt-Libya) meal was a bit of a disaster. =/ Other services included like the safety and passenger comfort was perfectly fine. In regards of the craft’s restroom, yes, it is comforting, but I find the flush out of the ordinary. Some air sipping the waste material down the drainage system or what. Overall, I would give it a 4.5 out of 5 stars for a job, service and facility well done. 😀

Stopover in Qatar… astonishment. As airport passengers, we experienced Qatari hospitality aside from the welcoming smile and approachable and helpful spirit of one of the Pinoy staffs who show us where to get food (which by the way taste good when served by a jolly Pinoy employee), charge our phones and laptops all for free. Isn’t that wonderful? 😀 Wandering around the airfield, we came passed with many lavish stalls, not to mention the classy Duty Free loaded with famous brands and costly souvenirs and many others with some captured picture moments on it. The rest of the hours of waiting in our connecting flight was spent staring at foreigners or sleeping in the chairs of the waiting areas.

So now, its more than a month (44 days to be exact) of living here in my ‘temporary home’. Today, I can announce OFFICIALLY to the people in my world that I’m in the City of Tripoli in Libya. So let’s talk about accommodation… its terrific?! A newly furnished a boarding house for those who patiently wait for the right time? SUPERB?! THANK GOD for that! 😀 One of the perks of having a tough job though… occupation: working as a Super Noypi, saving lives, taking care of my family and giving back to God (Whom I owe a lot) by serving Him as a Superhero, eh??? 😀 About the roomies and the neighboring rooms… hmmm, they all have their own unique differences, all I can do is to patiently understand it, deal with it and just mind my own thing, that’s all! Well let’s just leave it right there. Hahaha. 😀

I must say that for the nth time, the Divine Providence mantra, “God answers prayers” definitely works for me. In this Yuletide season, He’s the One, we as Catholics, celebrate and rejoice for coming to our lives. As a reminder to this spirit of giving, I wanna thank someone for being such a blessing to me… Ghi, man, THANK YOU for sharing the agency to me. Through God’s own way of planning our fate, you’re one of the reasons why I’m here where I am now. So again, THANKS VERY MUCH, GHI?! 😀 Anyway, for as long as the patience (of waiting? Hehe. :D), hard work (maybe? Haha. :D) and constant trust to Him (AMEN?!) all things fall into places. Look at me, I’m living the dream! Haha. I am blessed and it all happen in the grace of God and I’m so very THANKFUL to Him. 😀

P.S. Hope I can do the best and strive really hard for this new chapter of my LIFE. HAPPY MONTHSARY TO US?! And MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR as well. 😀

Here comes the Sun… doo… doo… doo…

Happy 2nd Anniversary to my 2nd video. Witness the art of amatuer videography. Haha! 😀

Happy 2 on 2?! And Happy Viewing?! 😀

Almost done… gear up the cooking instincts and let’s rock at the kitchen. Are you ready for this? 99 percent complete. 😀

Fooling around. It’s more fun in the Philippines. An April Fools Month Offering. Recorded between 8:51pm of December 30, 2012 and 1:12am of December 31, 2012 in the Quezon City Memorial Circle.

The video features…

Circle of Fun (1:36), with some breathtaking rides such as the Sea Dragon (1:48), Squirrel (1:51) and the usual Bump Cars (1:45).

Highlight of that evening is the 20 minutes fireworks display fired at the back of the Quezon Memorial Tower. The clip also shows the amateur footage of the excerpt of the astonish 20 minute sky full of lighters (6:50).

The songs Sugod by Sandwich, Pogi (Hindi Lahat) by Superkendi (3:39), Try It On My Own by Whitney Houston (4:35) and 2012 (It Ain’t the End) by Jay Sean featuring Nicki Minaj (6:01)

P.S. Happy April Fools?! 😀

Bonfire. More fun in the Philippines. Blazing pan of Cashew nuts (known as Kasoy or Kasuy in the Philippines) burning like in the fires of hell.

Though we did this around 8:30 am of April 12, 2012, it doesn’t drive me nuts despite of the heat coming from the Sun and the flames produced by these drupes. Rather a fun thing to do with a bunch of kids. Makes me bit feel young in a while. Haha?! 😀

Just doing the things I used to do back in my youngster years of living somewhere in the Northern Region of Luzon. 😀

The huge statue of The Resurrected Christ which signifies that Jesus after 40 days of coming back from the dead reunites with God, The Father up in Heaven.

Found behind the big statue of Jesus praying in the Garden of Gethsemane somewhere in the Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto, a City of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan fame. It’s their first time to see this sculpture but not for me. 😀

New beginnings in a Christian way after Easter. Happy Easter Monday to all?! 😀

P.S. Credits to Anne again for this picture. Hmmm… Do you even wonder where am I in this photo? Haha! 😀

The view of the pilgrims roaming around at the starting point of the Rosary Hill, The Crucified Christ located within the vicinity of the Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto in the City of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan. Behind the Cross (going up by the stairs) is the statue of Jesus inspired on the Biblical scene in the Garden of Gethsemane.

Think. Reflect. Repent. Pray. Unwind.

P.S. Any idea where do you think am I in this picture? Hehe. Have Blessed and Meaningful Holy Week to all. 😀

Photo credits to Anne, taken in this year’s Good Friday. 😀

Working on a project. More fun in the Philippines

About 80 to 85 percent complete. 😀

Senior Citizen Day. More fun in the Philippines 😀

Wet Summer. More fun in the Philippines

Pool Immersion. More Fun in the Philippines. For me, it’s not literally swimming at all, but instead soaking. 😀 Going into the pool was like being in a giant bath tub.

Cold-wide-waving Jacuzzi. We spent more time in the corner of the of the swimming pool with less exposure from the summer heat of the Sun (thanks to the trees for putting a shade on that pool side. :D).

Slips towards down then splashes. I got to experience the slides after not doing it for so long… I feel the suspense the moment while waiting and become more intense as I started to sit on the top of the slide. The thrill as I go all the way down and get numb shortly when the water clashes to me after the fall was way better that a carnival ride?! 😀

Epic Fail Jump shot. Having second thoughts in every attempt for a free fall down to the pool gives mea bit of anxiousness. It’s worse than sliding down but it’s a better, exciting and crazy dive. 😀

Breaking the rules of Dieting. In summer outing, among the major highlights of that day is eating… eating… and eating… being sober from the mouthwatering foods is a no-no. At least for this day, let’s give ourselves a break. Haha! Right JM? 😀 How can you resist to the delicious dishes like Menudo, Pineappled Chicken and Grilled Pork (in addition to that, rice and banana for dessert) all spends paid by our Dear Mam Ana. She’s really an angel sent from heaven. I’m so lucky to know her and be part of her circle of company. 😀 Thanks Very Much Mam Ana for making this get together happen. 😀

Ambush and Impromptu photo shoot. I understand that I’m in a group of people who loves to take pictures, so I have to get ready for my picture perfect pose. I might consider attending their next photo session. Maybe they can give me some workshops on how to project in a front of the lens, or perhaps tips to help me relax for a nice photogenic portrait. 😀

Summer season (to some) may be a burden as the heat waves takes over the cold breeze and warms everything by daylight. On a lighter side, it’s a way of the weather to reunite the establish bond with the people who never forgets you as time flies. So guys, thanks for the one day chill on this year’s warm season. Let’s do this next time, till we meet again?! 😀

P.S. Wow?! It’s been nearly decade (December of 2002 was I think my former visit) since my last swimming on this resort. But March 2009, when we got to crash an 18th birthday (happened on the same resort), we just attend the party that night, we never get ourselves wet. :D. Yeah, years had passed and it’s seems nothing has change, still the same. It’s truly the pride of City of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan. 😀

Meet and Greet with The Drunks…

I’ve never been in any eyeball before… for those who don’t have any idea what’s an ‘eyeball’ or ‘eb’ for short, its meeting up with someone whom a person met through talks on text, emails (or snail mails) or even in networking sites. It’s an up close in person encounter of each others’ real life avatars, not to mention, the chance to mingle and blend within the more-about-you zone. For some, attending eyeball simply means it’s the moment of truth?! The feeling of battling out excitement, hesitation and anxiety, and thinking of how to deal with the first meeting… all that in one combo. Then you arrived on the said venue (and there’s no turning back) makes you wanna say: “This is it?! Good luck to me?!”

So just recently, I attended a simple ‘eb’ as part of the Third anniversary of the group I used to belong with. And since I’m going to meet with them in a flesh, I suggest the perfect place for that is on the UP fair event (at the Sunken Gardens, UP Diliman). Well, some of them had attended the first ‘eb’ before back in 2009 held (as well) at the UP fair (while the others on the succeeding follow up ‘eyeballs’). Why at the UP fair? Only one reason for me is that, it’s memorable in a sense that the place was the first actual interaction of the group, the AMATS (the DRUNKS). So going back… that night, I saw right before my eyes how the close ties of friendship bonds them, one proof is that one of them came through all over from Batangas just to come and see us (I think to see how I look. Haha. :D), it just shows that distance is not a hindrance for a good and lasting comradeship. 🙂

So how’s the experience? Hmmmm, let me describe it this way… it’s like a you entered a chat room, and all you have to post are some words with different kinds of smileys or just smileys alone (to make them notice you’re there, it’s also a way of earning chat points and convert it into chips. :D), that’s how a shy type and don’t-talk-that-much person (like me) did the whole ‘eb’ thing is much like that. 😀

Fun! That explains the meet and greet and maybe a post St. Valentine’s group date-slash-get together. I’ve met people from different walks of life who share one thing in common, we entered the AMATS chat room. In just one single click of that enter link, conversation was made, got drunk by the craziness and the rest is history…

I wanna thank the people who’ve been there that night which has been part of the chronicles of my life:

mz_dowjones (outgoing queen bee of the AMATS chat room). Thank you for putting that name AMATS as the chat room that started it all. Thanks for being the first person who approached me (through PM) on AMATS chat room (you’re just the first person whom I gave my first name. Haha. :D). It’s nice to see you in person… so bubbly. I must say, you really have that public relation skills. Thanks for the Singapore key chain, it’s really nice. Good luck on your career. Kuddos.  😀

shobe (the one true friend of AMATS). The effort of putting this up is really a success. And the dedication you put through just to personally keep in touch with your friends is really fascinating. You’ve been consistent about visiting Manila to see your urban friends (when you have the luxury of time), traveling all the way from Batangas is so sweet of you. Does the round trip make you exhausted? If not, WOW?! Like what the AMATS say, KAW NA TALAGA. (YOU ALREADY). May God bless you on your studies and career. Salute! 😀

emy (events coordinator of the group). Thank you for being nice to me. You did a good job on making people attend the meet and greet. Like mz dowjones, you have some talent in public relations. Keep it up. Kuddos to you as well.  😀

meozzard22 (the blogger I don’t know about. Hehe. :D). Thanks for the welcoming approach. I saw it on your ‘four’ eyes. Haha. Nice to meet you, finally. Hehe. Salute!  😀

jaeson (the English man). Thanks you for being nice. I told you, I don’t talk too much in person. Haha. Think I disappoint all of you. Hehehe. Salute! 😀

wichix (the teacher in the making). Thanks for the warm welcome. I think I bored you for that short walk we did on the UP sidewalk. Hehe. I did appreciate our chitchat though. Best of luck on your studies and career. Kuddos.  😀

andeegurl (the smokin’ hot girl). Thank you for telling me that I’m good looking (I think I heard that?! Haha. :D). I never thought that someone would said that to me (coming from a pretty girl), aside from my mom and our house mirrors. Hahaha?! Okay, I just make up that house mirrors thing. Hehe. That really made my UP fair day. And oh, thanks for the Stork candy, btw.  😀

elmacky (the funny guy). Thanks for being good to me. The Cloud9 chocolate caramel temporary ease the hunger. And besides, being noble to offer us to collect our trash. It’s so kind of you.  😀

sinclaire (cool and steady lady). Thanks for being nice and welcoming. I wanna know more about you. I feel that you’re a good person.  😀

kevin (the computer guy of Lagro). Thank you for being nice and welcoming. You even offer that friendly hand shake and converse to me when I’m looking somewhere out of the blue. And lastly, thank you for the lucky pick you did on mz_dowjones’ mini raffle. You just handed me one fortunate coupon for the key chain. Hehe. Nice meeting you. Salute!  😀

alvin (Lagro Boy Rockstar). Thank you for being nice and welcoming as well. I think you’re a good person and a friend. Rock and roll! Kudos.  😀

I say it before and I say it again, THANK YOU GUYS?! It’s a pleasure meeting you all. You’re all wonderful and welcoming… hope to see you soon. 😀

Lesson learned on that ‘eyeball’ acquaintance… I tried to loosen up from being an anonymous introvert and struggle to become a less introvert but a bit extrovert JEJE. Haha. 😀 To cap it all, it was one of the chances of a lifetime, the possibility of having a lasting acquaintanceship is priceless… and it all began in the technology called ‘mobile internet chat’.

And lastly…

being with people is to be with people, for no man is an island.

Hope that makes sense. 😀 Happy Post Saint Valentine’s Day?! 😀

Impeachment Season for Chief Justice

Day 4 of the Corona Impeachment, witness underwent cross-examination. Looking at these photos, it felt like Day 2 for me. Not for the reason I previously took some pictures of it on the second day of the trial, it’s just that Day 2 and Day 4 were both looks like the same… goes around with the flow.

Medias from the three giant networks were in the look out in front of the Supreme Court, doing their own scoop of news to be delivered to the people who sometimes care on the happenings over at the secured gates of the High Court.

A lady with the blind fold holding a balance scale on her left hand and a sword in her right… image model of Justice. Which brings me to another term ‘Fairness’, that’s why a judge has to be blinded by its bylaws to cover the moral fiber to be firm on its decision based on the arguments that weighs among the two sides. Credibility is priceless, but who knows, a court ruling can be ruined if the price is right.

The administration has its issues, and some people had nothing to care about it. Making a living to survive in the battlefield of life is one of their many goals. These officials paid by our taxes can’t spoon fed them by the same taxes they paid. The Pinoy lifestyle of not being a government dependent that’s why our economy runs on its own. Though at some point, people can’t help but find someone to blame (first in the list, the government itslef) for on bad situations which the government should find something to do to solve it.

Being so drained by these court drama, I decided to make my own Sunday Silence (known by the followers of Rocked) for some meditation and get rid of the issues clashing inside my head, and the next thing I know that cove itself is underconstruction for the damage made by Typhoon Pedring. Instead of doing it on the block-slash-fence of the baywalk, I end up sitting on the roots of this tall tree eating the freshly fried banana cue sold on the sidewalk. The moment would’ve been perfect if the strange smell of a dried poop or something was not bugging my nose. 😀

Some says, ‘justice delayed, justice denied’. Others say, ‘ignorance of the law excuses no one’. Even though no one is above the law, remember that there’s ONE up there who is watching us down here who made those rules. 😀
